Isaiah Armstrong is a photographer based in Cincinnati, Ohio. He got into photography during the 2020 lockdown as a way of connecting with his late father, and hasn’t put his camera down since.
What Remains in the Gap
A study on the men and women who worked with my father in the last years as a firefighter, as well as the firefighters who he graduated alongside with at the fire academy. And an exploration of all the ways my father continues to live on in their professional and interpersonal lives. I believe the personal is universal, so by revisiting my own grief and loss around my father’s death and making peace with it, I can provide space for others to do the same.
