KAREN SAUNDERS

Karen Saunders is an artist and educator who works with fibers and clay to create sculptures and installations. She is inspired by large-scale works and the idea of building community through shared experiences with art. Her work has been exhibited in galleries and museums, including the Contemporary Art Center, where Buoyant is currently on view at the UnMuseum.


Saunders is showing in Chas Wiederhold’s Son of an Art Teacher exhibition.

Ampfly is a kinetic installation exploring happiness. Painted flowers made of tyvek inflate with the opening of their petals. They greet you, and say hi, whats up, good to see you. Listen and you can hear them breathing.
